The concern for pollution levels in India has gained public interest recently, because of the significant administrative measures and judicial decisions of banning old diesel and petrol cars in Delhi & NCR. The focus however, has largely been on outdoor pollutions overlooking indoor air pollutions. Unfortunately, Indoor air is more polluted and contains 2 to 5 times more contaminants and on occasion as much as 100 times more and has cost twice as many lives as Outdoor air. In order to curb pollution indoors, houseplants can be used as they possess the ability to remove significant amounts of air pollutants and consequently improve environmental quality and human health.
